“We humans are different – our brains are built not to fix memories in stone but rather to transform them, our recollections in their retelling.” – Mira Bartok
Meet Clint
Iowa Family Counseling welcomed Clint to the team in the Fall of 2021. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Clint is an important piece of the care team at Iowa Family Counseling and currently sees clients exclusively through teletherapy.
Clint has always been drawn to serving the community through social services. When entering college at Mount Mercy University, he initially thought that he would pursue a degree in Education, but quickly shifted gears toward pursuing a career in Social Work, becoming a Licensed Baccalaureate Social Worker in 2009. Clint was drawn to this profession because it offers such a wide variety of ways to help people in the community. In order to better serve the needs of the community, Clint extended his education through Mount Mercy University, earning his Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy.
Clint has spent more than 12 years providing counseling services, discharge, planning, and connecting patients to community resources within the health care setting, including for an inpatient psychiatry unit and regional hospital. He has a passion for helping others by providing quality therapy services and he truly understands the complex and individual needs of his clients.
Clint brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience to Iowa Family Counseling. His interest and clinical expertise includes serving diverse clients in the areas of couple’s therapy, family therapy for families with adolescent children, life cycle transitions such as family separation, becoming new parents, and work-related stress, adolescents, mood disorders, management of chronic mental illness, and substance use disorders.
When Clint is not working, he recharges by spending time with family and staying active outdoors. If he is not chasing after his children or two golden retrievers, you may find him in the garden, running, biking, or finding almost any excuse to be outside!
