What Is Play Therapy?

Play is a natural way for children to communicate, learn, explore relationships, and make sense of experiences. Play-based therapy uses developmentally appropriate activities to help children express thoughts and emotions that may be difficult to put into words. The therapist uses play intentionally within the therapeutic relationship based on the child's needs and treatment goals.
