Iowa Legal Aid

Iowa Legal Aid is a nonprofit organization providing critical legal assistance to low-income and vulnerable Iowans who have nowhere else to turn.

Along with volunteer lawyers throughout the state, Iowa Legal Aid helps the legal system work for those who cannot afford help with legal issues.

The Iowa Health & Human Services website contains a wealth of information and resources. This includes information on healthcare (Medicaid), family services, financial assistance, food assistance (EBT/SNAP/WIC), mental health and disability services, disaster services, and the safe haven initiative. There are also links for applying for assistance and reporting abuse or fraud.
